Volkswagen is set to unveil the new Golf GTI Clubsport, claiming the title of the most powerful front-wheel drive Golf to date, during a world premiere at the Nürburgring 24 Hours race. This event is not just a race; it’s a celebration of the Golf’s 50th anniversary, making it a landmark occasion for fans and enthusiasts alike.

A Closer Look at the GTI Clubsport

The GTI Clubsport features a bold redesign, especially at the front with its powerful new look and illuminated Volkswagen logo. Notably, it sports enhanced LED Plus headlights and a large rear spoiler for improved aerodynamics. The car rides on new 19-inch Queenstown alloy wheels with a design inspired by the classic Detroit wheels from the fifth-generation Golf GTI. For those seeking performance enhancements, there’s an option for 19-inch Warmenau forged wheels, which reduce weight and optimise performance.

Inside, the Clubsport’s cockpit is outfitted with a new multifunction leather sports steering wheel and an advanced infotainment system designed to keep the driver focused on the road. The inclusion of a voice assistant integrated with Chat GPT facilitates improved interaction, making the driving experience as intuitive as it is exhilarating.

The Clubsport is not only about looks; it’s tuned for performance with a special driving profile designed specifically for the Nürburgring’s demanding track. This includes a bespoke setup for the DCC adaptive chassis control to handle the track’s unique characteristics.

Eco-Friendly Racing with the GTI Clubsport 24h

Volkswagen is also pushing the envelope in sustainable racing by entering the Golf GTI Clubsport 24in the race, powered by a new E20 bioethanol fuel. This fuel, developed in collaboration with Shell, reduces CO2 emissions significantly thanks to its high renewable content. This race version of the GTI develops a hefty 348 PS and uses its power efficiently with a software-adapted engine capable of handling this advanced fuel.
