Lamborghini’s latest creation, the Temerario, made its debut at Monterey Car Week 2024, signalling a significant shift in the brand’s approach to supercar design. As the newest addition to Lamborghini’s High-Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) range, the Temerario blends advanced hybrid technology with the unmistakable performance and style that have defined Lamborghini for decades.

Performance

At the core of the Lamborghini Temerario is a groundbreaking hybrid powertrain that redefines what a supercar can be. The car is powered by a newly developed 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, a first for Lamborghini. This engine is capable of revving up to 10,000 rpm, delivering a thrilling 800 CV. The engine’s high-revving nature ensures that power is always on tap, providing a driving experience that feels both responsive and exhilarating.

Complementing the V8 engine are three electric motors that work in harmony to enhance the car’s performance. These motors add an additional 120 CV, bringing the total output to an impressive 920 CV. The integration of electric power doesn’t just boost horsepower—it eliminates turbo lag, offering instantaneous torque that enhances acceleration and agility, particularly in tight corners.

The hybrid system also supports the Temerario’s all-wheel-drive capability, allowing it to adapt to various driving conditions with ease. Whether you’re accelerating out of a corner on the track or cruising down a highway, the power delivery remains smooth and controlled, making the car as versatile as it is powerful.

  • Power Output: 920 CV
  • 0 to 60 mph: 2.7 seconds
  • Top Speed : 211 mph
  • Torque: 538 lb-ft

Design and Aerodynamics

Lamborghini has always been synonymous with striking design, and the Temerario takes this tradition to new heights with a focus on aerodynamics and functionality. The car’s exterior is not just about aesthetics—every curve and angle serves a purpose. The sharp, aggressive lines of the front end are designed to reduce drag and increase downforce, ensuring that the car remains stable at high speeds.

The use of a new high-strength, ultra-light aluminium alloy in the chassis further enhances the car’s performance. This material reduces the car’s weight while increasing its rigidity, resulting in improved handling and a more responsive drive. The Temerario’s design isn’t just about looking fast; it’s about being fast, with every detail contributing to its performance on the road and track.

Driving Experience

The Lamborghini Temerario is engineered to provide a versatile driving experience with multiple modes that allow you to tailor the car’s performance to your environment. For urban driving, Città mode prioritises comfort and efficiency, enabling the car to run on electric power alone. This makes the Temerario surprisingly quiet and environmentally friendly, perfect for navigating city streets.

When you’re on regular roads or embarking on a longer journey, Strada mode offers a balanced driving experience, combining the power of the V8 engine with the efficiency of the electric motors. The car’s systems work together to deliver smooth, controlled power, making it ideal for everyday use.

For those moments when you want to feel the full force of the Lamborghini, Sport and Corsa modes, transform the Temerario into a track-ready machine. In these modes, the suspension stiffens, throttle response sharpens, and the car’s full 920 CV are unleashed with precision and intensity. The newly introduced Drift Mode adds another layer of excitement, allowing for controlled oversteer, which is particularly enjoyable on the track.

Interior and Technology

Step inside the Lamborghini Temerario, and you’ll find an interior that’s as focused on performance as the exterior. The Lamborghini Vision Unit takes centre stage, providing a multimedia system that integrates high-definition cameras and advanced telemetry. This system allows you to record your driving sessions and analyse your performance, making it easier to improve your skills over time.

The cockpit is designed with the driver in mind. The low seating position, combined with a slim and lightweight dashboard, creates a feeling of being connected to the car. Every control is within easy reach, ensuring that the driver can focus entirely on the driving experience. The displays are intuitive and customisable, adapting to the selected driving mode to provide the most relevant information at all times.

Sustainable Performance

The Lamborghini Temerario doesn’t just push the envelope in terms of performance—it also marks a significant step forward in sustainability for the brand. The hybrid system, supported by a centrally located lithium-ion battery, not only enhances performance but also reduces the car’s environmental impact. The battery’s placement helps lower the car’s centre of gravity, improving handling while also contributing to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional supercars.

Lamborghini has managed to integrate this hybrid technology without compromising on the driving experience. The result is a car that delivers the exhilarating performance Lamborghini is known for, while also being more efficient and environmentally friendly.
