Mercedes-AMG will field a lineup of six AMG GT3s in a bid to secure their third overall victory. In addition, Mercedes-AMG will also be running a GT4 on the grid with Junior Driver David Schumacher, who will be debuting in his first-ever 24-hour race on the Nordschleife alongside Tim Nuser, David Thilenius, and Moritz Wiskirchen.
Since their last victory with the AMG GT3 in 2016, Mercedes-AMG has faced an uphill battle at the Nürburgring 24-hour race. BMW secured victory in 2020, Porsche in 2021 and Audi in 2022. Meanwhile, the Ferrari 296 GT3 won 2023 with an insane average speed of 170.456 km/h and a new distance record.
This year’s driver roster features a blend of proven talent and promising newcomers. Maro Engel, a key member of the 2016 winning team, brings invaluable experience and a deep understanding of the unique challenges of the Nürburgring.
